Northwoods Bank is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused Commercial Lender / Business Development Representative to join our team in Park Rapids. This role is ideal for a motivated banking professional who enjoys developing new business, helping local businesses succeed, and making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve. As a Commercial Lender and Business Development representative, you will be responsible for growing commercial and consumer loan portfolios, developing new deposit relationships, and serving as a trusted financial partner to customers. You will work closely with business owners, community leaders, and existing customers to identify opportunities and deliver financial solutions that help individuals and businesses thrive.
What You'll Do:
What You'll DoBusiness Development & Relationship Management Develop and grow commercial, agricultural, consumer, and deposit relationships. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, community involvement, and proactive sales efforts. Deepen relationships with existing customers by understanding their financial needs and recommending appropriate banking solutions. Generate new loan and deposit volume while achieving branch growth goals. Maintain an active sales pipeline and regularly report business development activities. Commercial & Consumer Lending Interview customers and analyze financial information to structure sound lending solutions. Underwrite, approve within authority, and close loans in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure loan documentation is complete and the bank's collateral position is properly secured. Monitor portfolio quality, assign appropriate risk ratings, and maintain accurate loan records. Manage renewals, annual reviews, and ongoing customer relationships. Portfolio Management Service an existing loan portfolio while providing exceptional customer service. Manage delinquent accounts and work proactively to minimize credit losses. Identify and address technical exceptions and potential problem loans. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient and timely loan processing. Community Leadership Represent the bank through participation in community, civic, and business organizations. Serve as an ambassador for Northwoods Bank by promoting our mission, values, and commitment to local communities. What We're Looking For Experience in commercial, agricultural, consumer, or business banking. Strong understanding of lending principles, credit analysis, and financial statement interpretation. Proven ability to develop new business and build long-term customer relationships. Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements. Strong sales orientation with a consultative approach. $45,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
