Job Summary:

The Rental Consultant is often the first impression customers have of Fabick Cat Rentals. This role creates a welcoming, professional rental experience by listening carefully, understanding what the customer is trying to accomplish, and helping connect them with the right equipment solution. The Rental Consultant owns the customer experience from the initial inquiry through contract completion, combining genuine care, polished communication, sound judgment, and strong follow-through. Success requires a service-first mindset and the willingness to learn our equipment, systems, and rental processes.

Responsibilities:

Create a warm, professional, and helpful experience for every customer in person, by phone, and electronically.

Ask thoughtful questions to understand the customer, the job to be done, timing, and equipment needs.

Take ownership of customer requests and follow through until the need is resolved or a clear next step is established.

Recommend appropriate rental equipment based on customer needs and partner with branch resources when additional expertise is needed.

Prepare quotes and rental contracts and ensure required documentation and insurance coverage are complete and accurate.

Coordinate with operations, service, sales, and other teams to support equipment availability, delivery, pickup, and customer commitments.

Respond to customer concerns with urgency, empathy, and a solution-oriented mindset while keeping the customer informed.

Support in-store sales, equipment inventory activities, and parts ordering for rental equipment as needed.

Build working knowledge of Fabick Cat Rentals equipment and stay current on changes, capabilities, and applications.

Represent Fabick Cat Rentals with professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving customers well.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.

Two or more years of customer-facing experience in service, hospitality, retail, sales, or a related environment required.

Demonstrated service orientation: listens well, shows genuine care, and looks for ways to make the customer experience easier.

Polished, confident communication skills with the ability to build trust with a wide range of customers.

Strong judgment, ownership, and problem-solving skills, especially when priorities or customer needs change.

Learning agility and interest in developing equipment knowledge and rental expertise; prior rental or equipment experience is preferred, not required.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and follow through on commitments.

Strong phone, written, and in-person communication skills.

Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and business systems; accurate data entry required.

Interest in building meaningful expertise and growing within the rental business over time.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend, and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
