The Territory Sales Professional is responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships within an assigned territory while promoting equipment, products, and services that support customer needs. This role works closely with customers to understand their operations, identify solutions, and support sales growth. Success in this position is measured through achievement of sales objectives, customer retention, market growth, and effective management of territory activities.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain relationships with customers within an assigned territory. Promote and sell equipment, products, services, and solutions that align with customer needs and business objectives. Communicate product features, benefits, and value to prospective and existing customers. Execute territory sales plans and activities to achieve established sales goals and performance objectives. Maintain regular contact with key customers through planned sales calls, visits, and follow-up activities. Identify customer challenges and recommend appropriate solutions. Develop and maintain knowledge of equipment, technology, and industry trends relevant to customer operations. Utilize company systems, tools, and technology to manage customer information, sales activities, and internal processes. Support market share growth and contribute to the management of used equipment opportunities within the territory. Build customer trust by following through on commitments and providing responsive service. Collaborate with sales team members and other departments to support customer satisfaction and overall business success. Manage company-provided equipment and resources responsibly. Maintain accurate sales records, documentation, and related administrative requirements. Continuously improve territory management, customer engagement, and sales effectiveness. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, marketing, sales, or a related field preferred. Experience in sales, customer service, agriculture, equipment, construction, heavy equipment, or a related industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous equipment sales experience preferred. Knowledge of agricultural equipment, construction equipment, precision technology, or related products preferred. Ability to build and maintain customer relationships through effective communication, active listening, and consultative selling. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly. Proficiency with computers, mobile devices, business software applications, and customer relationship management (CRM) or sales management systems. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet goals, and follow through on commitments. Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives and collaborating across departments. Ability to plan and manage territory activities and customer relationships. Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout an assigned territory. Ability to operate, inspect, and demonstrate equipment as part of customer sales activities. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout office, dealership, customer, and outdoor environments. Ability to use computers, tablets, and mobile devices for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move materials associated with sales activities, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in office, dealership, customer site, and outdoor environments. May be exposed to varying weather conditions and equipment operating environments. Must follow established safety policies and procedures. Regular travel within the assigned territory is required. Occasional attendance at meetings, training programs, customer events, and industry functions may be required.
