Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and driven Fence Field Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meeting with homeowners and property owners, assessing their fencing needs, providing estimates, and helping customers choose the right fence solution for their property. This role requires strong communication skills, confidence in face to face sales, and the ability to build trust with customers while representing the company professionally in the field. Duties As a Fence Field Sales Representative, you will: Meet with customers at their homes or job sites to understand their fencing needs Inspect properties, take measurements, and gather details required for accurate estimates Recommend appropriate fencing options based on the customer's goals, budget, property layout, and project requirements Present estimates clearly and explain materials, timelines, installation process, and available options Use effective sales and upselling techniques to help customers choose upgrades such as gates, privacy options, premium materials, or additional fence sections Follow up with leads, estimates, and past customers to help close sales Maintain accurate notes, customer information, measurements, and project details in the company CRM or sales system Coordinate with the office, production team, and installers to ensure a smooth handoff after the sale Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and helping customers feel confident in their decision Represent the company professionally while in the field, including punctuality, appearance, communication, and conduct Assist with basic math calculations for measurements, pricing, and project estimates Skills The ideal candidate will have: Strong customer service and communication skills Experience in sales, preferably in construction, home services, fencing, roofing, landscaping, or another field sales environment Ability to build rapport with homeowners and explain project details in a simple, clear way Comfort measuring properties, reviewing project details, and preparing estimates Strong follow up skills and the ability to manage multiple leads at once Basic math skills for measurements, pricing, and estimating Ability to work independently in the field and stay organized throughout the sales process Confidence in presenting pricing, overcoming objections, and closing deals Familiarity with CRM systems, tablets, estimating software, or mobile sales tools is an asset Knowledge of fencing materials, installation methods, or construction is an asset, but training can be provided
