This is not a passive sales role. This position is for someone who is comfortable making calls, walking into builder offices, visiting job sites, dropping off business cards, following up consistently, and developing real relationships with decision-makers in the construction community. The primary goal of this role is to create new opportunities for standing seam metal roofing projects on custom homes, new construction, and selected multi-family builds. About Fortitude Roofing Fortitude Roofing is a professional roofing company serving coastal North Carolina. We are building a high-performance roofing platform known for strong systems, disciplined execution, quality installation, and reliable communication. We are growing intentionally and looking for people who want to help us expand our presence with builders, general contractors, and developers who care about quality and long-term relationships. Position Overview The role will be responsible for identifying, contacting, visiting, and developing relationships with custom home builders and general contractors throughout Fortitude Roofing's service area. This person will focus heavily on outbound relationship development. The work includes phone calls, in-person visits, job site introductions, networking, follow-up, and coordination with Fortitude Roofing's estimating and production teams. The right candidate will understand that builder relationships are built through consistency, credibility, and follow-through. Primary Responsibilities Call custom home builders, general contractors, and multi-family builders throughout Fortitude Roofing's service area. Visit builder offices, active job sites, and contractor locations to introduce Fortitude Roofing. Build and maintain relationships with builders, GCs, project managers, and construction decision-makers. Promote Fortitude Roofing's standing seam metal roofing capabilities for new construction projects. Identify upcoming projects and create opportunities for Fortitude Roofing to bid. Track outreach activity, follow-ups, contacts, and opportunities in the company CRM. Drop off business cards, company information, and relevant sales materials. Coordinate with internal estimating and sales teams to move opportunities forward. Maintain consistent communication with prospects over time. Represent Fortitude Roofing professionally in the builder and GC community. Travel throughout Fortitude Roofing's coastal North Carolina service area as needed. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is disciplined, persistent, professional, and comfortable starting conversations with people they do not know. This person should be able to earn trust with builders and contractors by being direct, reliable, and consistent. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys field sales, relationship-building, construction, and business development. Requirements Prior sales, business development, construction, roofing, building materials, or contractor-facing experience preferred. Strong phone communication skills. Comfortable making cold calls and in-person visits. Professional appearance and communication style. Ability to manage follow-up without being constantly reminded. Strong organizational habits and willingness to use a CRM. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel throughout Fortitude Roofing's service area. Located in or near the Wilmington, NC area. Preferred Experience Experience selling to custom home builders, general contractors, developers, or construction companies. Knowledge of roofing, exterior construction, or standing seam metal roofing. Existing relationships in the Wilmington, coastal NC, or builder/GC community. Experience with new construction sales or construction estimating coordination. Service Area This position will be based in the Wilmington, NC area and will require travel throughout Fortitude Roofing's service area, including coastal North Carolina markets such as Wilmington, New Hanover County, Brunswick County, Pender County, Onslow County, Carteret County, Craven County, and surrounding communities. Compensation Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, performance, and role structure. The package may include base pay, commission, performance incentives, and mileage or travel reimbursement depending on the final compensation plan. Pay:
