Inside Sales Representative (Industrial Products) Job Description This Inside Sales Representative role focuses on supporting a growing sales team by managing inbound and warm leads, strengthening relationships with an established customer base, and helping drive additional revenue across industrial accounts. You will work closely with the outside sales team, contribute to account planning and growth, and play a key role in ensuring consistent follow-up and customer satisfaction. This position is fully onsite and offers a clear path to advance into a hybrid or outside sales role with stable earnings and a supportive team environment. Responsibilities Follow up promptly and consistently on inbound and warm leads to convert opportunities and maintain strong customer relationships. Support the outside sales team by assisting with account planning, customer outreach, and preparation for customer meetings and visits. Identify opportunities to increase sales within existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and account growth initiatives. Track sales activities, leads, follow-ups, and account information using Excel and other internal tools. Build and maintain lists of target accounts to support outside sales visits and strategic outreach campaigns. Assist with trade show preparation, including organizing materials, coordinating logistics, and following up with leads after events (approximately 3-4 times per year). Collaborate with the broader sales team to share insights on customer needs, market trends, and account growth opportunities. Maintain organized records of customer interactions and ensure accurate data entry in Excel and relevant ERP/CRM systems. Take ownership of daily tasks and sales support activities with minimal hand-holding, demonstrating a proactive and self-starting approach. Contribute to a team-oriented sales environment by supporting colleagues, sharing best practices, and aligning with team goals tied to bonus structures. Essential Skills Approximately 3-5+ years of relevant experience in B2B industrial sales, inside sales, account management, or sales support. Proven experience working with industrial customers or related products, such as hoses, motors, equipment, or similar industrial solutions. Experience in inside sales or account management, with a focus on managing existing accounts and supporting sales teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple leads, accounts, and follow-up activities simultaneously. Proficiency with Excel for tracking sales activity, managing data, and maintaining organized records. Comfort working fully onsite, 5 days per week, in a structured office environment. Demonstrated ability to follow up consistently and maintain an account growth mindset, focusing on warm leads rather than heavy cold calling. Comfort working in an inside sales or sales support capacity, collaborating closely with an existing sales team. Familiarity with ERP or CRM systems, with the ability to learn and use platforms such as Sage. Proactive, self-starting attitude with the ability to take ownership of tasks and operate with limited supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Interest in growing into a hybrid or outside sales role with increased field responsibilities and higher commission potential. Experience with account growth, upselling, and expanding revenue within an established customer base. Exposure to industrial products or industrial customers, even indirectly, such as through prior roles in related industries. Comfort with light travel for trade shows and client exposure, approximately 3-4 times per year. Strong follow-up habits and a customer-focused mindset, emphasizing relationship building over heavy cold calling. Ability to thrive in a team-oriented sales environment, contributing to shared goals and bonus structures tied to team performance. Comfort working with basic data and reporting in Excel, including tracking activity and organizing customer information. Work Environment This role is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, with standard hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will work in an office-based environment alongside an established sales team, collaborating closely on account management and sales support activities. The position centers on inside sales, with a primary focus on warm leads and existing accounts rather than heavy cold calling. You will use tools such as Excel and ERP/CRM systems (including Sage) to track activity and manage customer information. The work environment offers a stable earnings structure with a base salary and consistent bonus tied to team performance, a clear path to grow into outside or hybrid sales, and exposure to a wide range of industrial products and clients. Light travel may be required for trade shows and client events a few times per year, providing additional hands-on exposure to customers and products. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Cranbury, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
