Job Description

Base $60,000-$80,000 + Bonus + Incentives. The Inside Sales Representative maintains and develops relationships with the assigned customer base to generate profitable, sustainable, and collectible business.
Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service— o Assesses the customer's business and identifies areas of opportunity to provide value o Coordinates follow-up with customer to ensure timely and accurate deliveries o Takes a proactive approach to anticipating and preventing problems—i.
e., defines the problem, investigates obstacles, and analyzes alternative solutions o Coordinates the resolution of customer complaints regarding damaged/incorrect material and delivery/inventory problems
  • Product Knowledge— o Has existing knowledge of or the ability to learn carbon and non-ferrous product line and sells the product that will best meet the customer's needs
  • Processing Orders— o Determines processing requirements and lead times to provide accurate delivery to customer o Coordinates orders with warehouse and appropriate sales departments to ensure timely product delivery to customer o Accurately enters data for completion of order o Maintains record-keeping and reporting systems to regularly update account plans and objectives as appropriate to the profit potential of each customer • Pricing— o Establishes pricing guidelines for customers in coordination with Sales Management and other sales department • Business Promotion— o Develops sales leads o Outcalls customers and potential customers as part of a larger marketing strategy • Other Duties— o Adheres to the Norfolk Iron Code of Ethics in doing business with customers o Responds to periodic requests for information from management and corporate functions o Actively participates in weekly Sales meetings and represents Sales in BAM as necessary o Meets annual training requirements for Inside Sales o All other duties as assigned •Benefits— o PTO offered immediately o No Weekends o Paid holidays o Monthly Bonus Opportunities o Premium FREE Employee Healthcare and Life Insurance o 401k with Company Match o
Education Assistance Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Organize/prioritize daily work activities to provide the best service to customers
  • Maintain professionalism and composure in all situations

  • Concentrate and maintain productivity in high pressure situations
  • Intermediate knowledge
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • College preferred but not required
  • 3—5 years of experience in Sales or Customer Service required; OR
  • 2+ years in sales of flat roll metal products or metal fabrication
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
In this section, detail the physical activities, weigh limits, duration of physical activity, and potential environmental demands that are essential to the job.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and/or push 50 lbs. on a semi-frequent basis.
  • Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Use hand and fingers to type and conduct computer tasks for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work in a dusty, hot environment for up to 10 hours per day.
