Lighting Designer - Join Our Creative Team! About Us Cleveland Lighting is Northeast Ohio's premier lighting showroom, proudly serving the residential and light commercial markets for over 30 years. As a family-owned business with showrooms in Lyndhurst and Fairlawn, we're passionate about transforming spaces through innovative lighting design. Position Overview We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Lighting Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate brings a strong design sensibility, sales experience, and a collaborative spirit. You'll work closely with retail clients, interior designers, and builders to craft lighting solutions that enhance the beauty and function of every space. Key Responsibilities Meet and exceed monthly and annual sales goals. Monitor and manage open bids and order reports daily to drive sales activity. Recommend and sell complementary products such as dimmers, bulbs, and control systems. Follow a structured sales process—engage customers, identify their needs, and close the sale. Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients. Provide attentive, courteous service—greet customers promptly, listen actively, and offer informed suggestions. Maintain consistent follow-up and communication to ensure customer satisfaction. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Design or Sales preferred; high school diploma/GED required with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Prior sales experience required; experience in the design or lighting industry is a plus. Excellent communication and customer service skills—both written and verbal. Strong active listening skills and product knowledge. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable using or quickly learning relevant computer systems and tools. A positive, energetic attitude and genuine passion for helping customers. Ability to build trust-based relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates.
