Job Description
About RelianceCM We're a 30-year-old electronics manufacturer in Corvallis. We build printed circuit board assemblies for hardware companies in medtech, industrial automation, IoT, and AI. We're hiring our first dedicated business development associate, and we think a recent graduate or someone with 0-2 years of professional experience is exactly the right person for it.
Important:
This is not a typical sales job Before you read further, please understand what this role is not : This is not a high-volume cold-calling role This is not a commission-only position This is not a telemarketing or boiler-room job This is not remote or hybrid — it's fully on-site in Corvallis This is not for experienced sales professionals (we're hiring entry-level by design) We sell by building relationships over long sales cycles (6-12 months). Our customers are engineering teams who choose vendors carefully and stay with them for years. The work is patient, thoughtful, and genuinely interesting if you like understanding how things are made. What you'll actually do Research prospective customers and decide who's worth pursuing Craft personalized outreach — emails, handwritten letters, LinkedIn messages Sit in on customer meetings with the CEO, take notes, and own follow-through Manage a portfolio of 50-100 warm prospects through long sales cycles Coordinate RFQ responses when opportunities go active Spend real time on our manufacturing floor learning how PCBs get built The growth path Year 1: Learn the business. Own lead qualification and outreach. Shadow the CEO. Year 2: Take ownership. Run initial customer outreach independently. Manage your own accounts. Year 3+: Grow into a Customer Development Manager role. Who we're looking for Recent graduate or 0-2 years of professional experience Genuinely curious about how things are made — if a factory tour sounds cool, we should talk Excellent writer (you'll represent our brand in every piece of outreach) Organized and systematic — you need a real way of keeping track of things Patient with long sales cycles Based in Corvallis or willing to relocate; this role is fully on-site Compensation Base salary: $55,000- 65,000 depending on experience and fit Performance bonus (Year One): $8,000
