Freight Broker

Duties Coordinate and negotiate freight shipments between shippers and carriers, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effective solutions, for both local and long-haul movements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with 3PL providers, carriers, and clients to facilitate smooth logistics operations. Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and enhanced service quality. Manage procurement activities related to freight services and transportation sourcing to optimize pricing strategies. Monitor freight routes and schedules, adjusting plans proactively to address delays or disruptions in supply chain operations Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards while maintaining accurate records of all transactions. Screen, qualify, and onboard shippers and carriers, ensuring compliance with company, safety, and regulatory standards. Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while building and maintaining strong client relationships to support long-term business growth. Negotiate and secure competitive freight rates with carriers and shippers to ensure profitability while maintaining service standards. Qualifications Proven experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain management with a strong understanding of transportation planning and operations management Strong negotiation skills for freight rates and procurement activities; ability to analyze pricing trends effectively Excellent communication skills for coordinating with carriers, clients, and internal teams; adept at problem-solving under pressure Technical proficiency in data analysis tools and logistics software; experience with demand planning and supply chain analytics preferred Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates a high degree of initiative and independence with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision. Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy with a focus on quality and consistency. Exhibits clear, concise, and professional communication.
