  • Full-time Midwestern Securities is seeking a dedicated and experienced banking industry professional or sales professional to join our established team as a Business Development Officer.
Your primary responsibility will be to establish and cultivate relationships with community bank leaders and get them to contract with Midwestern Securities as their broker-dealer and Registered Investment Advisor (RIA). You will play a crucial role in expanding our presence in the community banking industry and promoting our comprehensive suite of investment and wealth management services. This is a great opportunity for an experienced banking professional looking for new challenges in the industry they love. You will use your well-established connections and relationships to set meetings with potential community financial institution partners to teach them about our investment services offering and the benefits of transitioning to Midwestern Securities. This is a full-time position. Travel across the Midwest and into Texas can be expected, sometimes up to 50-70% of your time. Home base for this position is our office in East Peoria, IL. However, remote employment could be considered for the right candidate. If remote, employee will be required to travel to our offices for training and meetings as needed. The Business Development Officer will report to the Chief Growth Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and target community banks within a specified region for potential business partnerships. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within community banks. Analyze the needs and goals of community banks and propose customized solutions to meet their requirements. Educate potential clients about Midwestern Securities' services and advantages, positioning us as the preferred broker/dealer and RIA partner. Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals and presentations tailored to the specific needs of each community bank. Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and competitive intelligence. Participate in industry events and conferences to network and establish a strong presence for Midwestern Securities. Secure speaking opportunities at banking industry events and give impactful presentations on subjects such as leadership, teamwork, and growing wealth management divisions inside community banks. Track and report on your progress and achievements, including key performance metrics.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in the banking industry, either at a bank, credit union or related association is preferred. Proven track record of successful business development in the financial industry. Strong understanding of the banking and financial services sector. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively build relationships and communicate complex financial concepts. Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently. Familiarity with investment and wealth management products and services. Ability to travel within the specified region as required.
Requirement:
Candidate must provide two professional references from previous supervisors. References will be contacted only in the final stages of the hiring process.
