Business Development Representative (Full-Time/Hybrid) Jackson ImmunoResearch

Position Summary:
The Business Development Representative is a key member of our commercial team, primarily responsible for driving new business and increasing sales through proactive outreach, demand generation, and customer engagement. This role combines strategic lead follow-up, outbound prospecting, and cross-functional collaboration to support growth in both existing and emerging markets. The ideal candidate is outgoing, highly motivated, and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on revenue generation. Qualified candidates must be local, however, this position offers possibility of hybrid remote 1-2 day per week.
Core Focus and Time Allocation:
Business Development (45%)
  • Primary focus on generating new business and increasing sales through inbound lead conversion, outbound prospecting, and pipeline development. CRM & Data Management (25%)
  • Maintain accurate HubSpot CRM records, track activities, and leverage data insights to drive strategy and performance. Account Management (20%)
  • Engage existing customers and distribution partners to identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities and maintain strong relationships. Marketing Support (10%)
  • Support campaign follow-up, trade show engagement, and collaboration with Marketing on messaging and lead generation efforts.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct timely, personalized follow-up on inbound leads from marketing campaigns, website inquiries, and trade shows to drive conversion. Develop and execute outbound lead generation programs, including targeted call and email outreach to prospective customers. Proactively identify, qualify, and nurture early-stage opportunities to build a strong sales pipeline and support revenue growth. Engage with existing customers and Customer Service inquiries to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities while ensuring high satisfaction. Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records of all outreach, communications, and lead status updates in HubSpot. Analyze sales and CRM data to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities. Collaborate closely with Marketing to refine messaging, campaigns, and lead scoring strategies. Work with global distribution partners to support account growth, training, and ongoing relationship management. Participate in trade show follow-up programs and assist with event-related outreach planning and execution. Gather and relay customer insights and feedback to inform product and service improvements. Consistently meet or exceed activity, pipeline, and conversion targets.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of demonstrated success in an inside sales or business development role (life sciences, manufacturing, or related industry preferred). Bachelor's degree required. Background in science or technical sales is a strong plus. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with scientific and technical audiences. Proficiency with CRM and marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce). Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
