As a Business Development Specialist, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth by developing new client relationships and managing strategic advertising partnerships. You'll work closely with businesses to understand their marketing objectives and recommend customized multi-platform media solutions including digital advertising, sponsorships, branded content, and integrated campaigns. This is a high-impact client-facing role within a well-established media organization that provides innovative advertising and audience engagement solutions to businesses across multiple industries. The ideal candidate is proactive, consultative, and motivated by both relationship-building and exceeding revenue targets. This is a hybrid role based in Minneapolis, Minnesota and requires onsite presence two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday). Compensation includes a $50,000 base salary plus uncapped commission, with on-target earnings up to $80,000 annually.
Core Responsibilities:
Drive new business development through prospecting, networking, outbound outreach, and relationship-building efforts Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation and discovery meetings to proposal development, presentations, negotiations, and closing Sell integrated media and advertising solutions including digital campaigns, sponsorship opportunities, branded content, and print advertising Develop and grow existing client accounts through upselling, renewals, and strategic partnership opportunities Conduct consultative meetings with clients to understand marketing goals, target audiences, and campaign objectives Build strong relationships with business owners, marketing leaders, and key decision-makers Provide strategic recommendations on advertising initiatives, audience engagement, and campaign performance Maintain accurate CRM activity, sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and account updates Consistently achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets
What We're Looking For:
2+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally within media, advertising, digital marketing, sponsorship sales, or related industries Proven success generating new business and managing client relationships in a quota-driven environment Strong consultative sales approach with the ability to position value-driven marketing solutions Experience selling digital advertising, media campaigns, or marketing services is highly preferred Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working in a fast-paced sales environment Must be based in or near the Minneapolis area and able to work onsite on hybrid days What's in It for
