Overview Join our dynamic team as a Freight Broker, where you will be at the forefront of connecting shippers with reliable carriers to ensure seamless transportation of goods across various supply chain networks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in transportation management, logistics sales, and customer relationship management to drive business growth and operational excellence. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will coordinate freight movements, negotiate contracts, and build lasting relationships with clients and carriers alike. Your proactive approach and strategic mindset will help optimize transportation planning and elevate our service standards. Duties Develop and maintain strong relationships with shippers, carriers, and clients to facilitate efficient freight solutions. Coordinate transportation planning by matching freight loads with suitable carriers using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other CRM software. Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms to secure competitive pricing while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations and industry standards. Manage inside sales activities, lead generation efforts, and account management to expand business opportunities within the supply chain sector. Oversee dispatching, data entry, and tracking of shipments via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), AS400 systems, and other logistics platforms to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct carrier sales activities including onboarding new carriers such as 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) operators. Monitor freight operations for compliance with transportation regulations, including FDA guidelines when applicable, while managing logistics sales strategies to maximize revenue. Requirements Proven experience in supply chain management, transportation management systems, or logistics sales roles. Strong knowledge of B2B sales processes, contract negotiations, and account management techniques. Familiarity with transportation planning tools such as CRM software, EDI platforms, AS400 systems, and TMS solutions like Freight Management Software. Excellent negotiation skills combined with a customer-focused approach to foster long-term relationships. Ability to handle data entry accurately while managing dispatching tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Understanding of freight logistics including carrier sales, transportation sales, and freight pricing strategies. Knowledge of FDA regulations related to shipping when applicable; experience working with 3PL providers or NVOCCs is a plus.
