Regional Sales Representative Job Description The Regional Sales Representative plays a key role in driving growth by identifying new business opportunities for recycling used abrasive media and selling abrasive products to distributors and end users across diverse markets, including metal finishing, environmental, and ballast industries. This is a full-time, primarily in-office position with regular regional travel throughout the Midwest, focused initially on Michigan and neighboring states. Responsibilities Research and qualify companies as potential users of abrasive media that can be purchased for recycling, while creating opportunities to sell abrasive products. Update the online CRM system with all relevant information for recycling leads, sales leads, and existing customer accounts. Contact potential customers and material sources by phone, email, and other communication channels to present products and services. Track, follow up on, and report the status of purchase offers for spent abrasive opportunities. Research, identify, and generate new sales opportunities as directed by leadership. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing distributors and end users through regular phone and email communication to understand and support their product needs. Gather, analyze, and report useful information from customer interactions and competitor data to support sales strategy and decision-making. Conduct regional travel for onsite visits with existing and prospective customers to strengthen relationships and close new business. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes in every aspect of the role. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handoff of new accounts and ongoing customer satisfaction. Essential Skills 1-3 years of experience as a sales representative or in a similar sales or account management role. Experience in manufacturing or industrial sales is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Development, or a related field. Demonstrated dedication to providing excellent customer service. Ability to manage time flexibly and respond to unscheduled, immediate customer or business needs. Active experience with a range of sales communication techniques, including cold calls, emails, and social media outreach. Hands-on experience with CRM software, preferably Zoho. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Microsoft Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel regionally throughout Michigan and neighboring states as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications Background in business development, inside sales, sales operations, or account management within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong customer service mindset and ability to build long-term relationships with distributors and end users. Comfort working with data and reports to track leads, opportunities, and customer information. Willingness to learn and openness to training and professional development. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced sales environment. Work Environment This is a full-time role based primarily in an office setting, with flexibility to work remotely depending on meetings and business needs. Typical working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with regular regional travel throughout Michigan and neighboring states to visit customers onsite. The environment is professional and collaborative, similar to a modern sales office with regular use of CRM software and Microsoft Office tools. The role offers a long-term career path and serves as a strong launch pad for professionals with 1-3 years of business development, sales, or account management experience. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Romulus, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.05/hr.
