Job Description
This role is for you if: You're a licensed real estate professional who's discovered that the commission-only, prospect-your-own-business model isn't working — not because you're bad at real estate, but because the model wasn't built for your strengths. You're organized, you're great with clients, and you enjoy the work. You just need a structure that pays you reliably while you do it.
Or:
you're an experienced professional from another industry — hospitality, client services, nonprofit, healthcare administration, high-end retail — and you've been drawn to real estate but aren't willing to gamble your financial stability on cold calls and an empty pipeline. You want to learn the business from someone who's been doing it successfully for nearly two decades. Either way, you want a role where your communication skills, organizational ability, and client instincts are valued — not a desk where you're told to smile and dial. What this role is:
You'll work directly alongside Susan McCallion, Broker and top producer on Sanibel Island, as her Sales Coordinator. You'll be in the field — at showings, open houses, listing appointments, and client meetings. You'll prepare materials, coordinate schedules, manage follow-up, and handle an increasing share of client communication as you develop Sanibel market expertise. All clients are Susan's. You're not building your own book of business. You're making Susan more productive by ensuring nothing falls through the cracks — and as her production grows because of your contribution, your compensation grows with it. This is a long-term role, not a stepping stone. It is designed to be professionally and financially rewarding on its own terms. If you eventually want to become an independent buyer's agent at Mc2, that path exists — but it's a separate decision, not an automatic progression. Many people will find that the stability, partnership, and income of this role is exactly what they want. What you'll do: Accompany Susan on showings, open houses, and client meetings — capturing commitments and ensuring follow-through Prepare CMAs, showing packets, pre-listing materials, market reports, and other client-facing documents Handle post-showing follow-up: calls, emails, requested information, CRM updates Coordinate showing schedules with buyers, listing agents, and properties Support seller clients by sharing showing feedback, market updates, and ongoing communication Maintain CRM records with complete interaction notes and current next-action dates for every contact As your proficiency grows, conduct showings and client communication that Susan delegates, always within her client relationships Provide some office coverage on Sanibel to support the operations team What we're looking for: Two things matter most: client communication skills and organizational follow-through. Without both, this role doesn't work. You must be naturally warm, articulate, and confident in conversation with affluent buyers and sellers, typically aged 50-70. Your written communication must be polished, professional, and genuine — never salesy. You must be the kind of person who instinctively tracks commitments, follows up without being reminded, and never lets something slip. If you're the person your previous employer or clients relied on to make sure things actually got done, that's who we're looking for.Beyond that:
Florida real estate license required (or ability to obtain within 60 days) Professional background outside real estate is valued — we'd rather train real estate skills than try to teach someone how to communicate with clients or stay organized Patient and service-oriented — Sanibel buyers often take two or more years from first inquiry to purchase Comfortable with technology, particularly CRM systems Adaptable — Susan moves fast, priorities shift, and you'll need to keep pace without losing the detailsCompensation:
$50,000-$60,000 base salary plus commission. The commission is tied to Susan's sales growth and begins after an initial training period of approximately 90 days. This is not a commission-only role. You will have reliable income from day one, with upside that rewards your direct contribution to production.Location:
Sanibel Island, Florida. This role requires physical presence on the island — field work and office work. Remote work is not an option. Bridge tolls are covered.About McCallion & McCallion Realty:
We're a boutique brokerage on Sanibel Island, focused exclusively on Sanibel and Captiva real estate. We operate as a small, high-performing team — not a large brokerage with hundreds of agents. We invest in marketing, systems, and support so our people can focus on serving clients well. Our approach is built on deep local knowledge, honest counsel, and the belief that real estate should be done right. To apply:
Send your resume and a brief note explaining why this role interests you. We're less interested in your real estate production numbers than in understanding who you are, what your strengths are, and why this structure appeals to you.Pay:
