Job Description

Outside Sales Representatives needed in Detroit MI area! Must be comfortable working in the field! Job Description This role supports a brand-new delivery program by recruiting local businesses to join a hub delivery partner network. You will focus on field-based outreach, building relationships with prospective partners, and guiding them through the full application process. Working closely with a Field Manager and other local contractors, you will drive program growth by visiting businesses, hosting recruitment events, and managing your pipeline in Salesforce. The position involves regular travel within a two-hour driving radius and offers the opportunity to earn commission based on successfully converted partners. Responsibilities + Visit prospective businesses door to door in targeted towns within approximately a two-hour driving distance. + Present and pitch the new delivery partner program to prospective businesses and generate interest in applying. + Qualify prospective businesses to determine fit for the program and guide them through the full application process. + Lead follow-up activity with prospective partners and manage all leads and pipeline data in Salesforce. + Support the Field Manager in planning and hosting recruitment events in the community, such as lunch-and-learn sessions and town hall meetings. + Collaborate with the Field Manager to engage local influencers, including chambers of commerce and economic development associations, to drive referrals and awareness. + Import Excel spreadsheets into Salesforce on a weekly basis to ensure accurate and up-to-date records. + Drive referrals through community organizations and local networks to expand the pool of potential partner businesses. + Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service while representing the program to prospective partners. + Travel regularly within the assigned territory to meet with businesses and attend recruitment events. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 1-2 years of experience in sales and/or customer service, with a focus on customer-facing roles. + Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly. + Previous field sales experience is a plus. + Prior experience in roles involving sales and/or negotiation with customers is advantageous. + High level of professionalism, enthusiasm for working with others, and a strong sense of urgency. + Strong attention to detail and the ability to solve problems for applicants in the field. + Tech-savvy, with experience working with multiple systems and technology tools. + Comfort working in a performance-driven environment with commission opportunities. + Interest in last-mile delivery and improving the delivery experience for end customers. + Willingness to work on a contract that may be extended for up to 2 years. Work Environment This is a field-based role with significant time spent on the road, typically 3-5 days per week, visiting businesses and attending community events within a two-hour driving radius. The remainder of the time you work from home to manage leads, update Salesforce, and prepare for outreach activities. The position supports coverage in the Detroit, MI area (two headcount) and the Lansing, MI area (one headcount). You use tools such as Salesforce and Excel regularly to manage data and reporting. Travel is a core component of the role, and mileage is reimbursed. A monthly phone expense allowance is provided to support mobile communication needs. The work environment emphasizes collaboration with a Field Manager and other local contractors, community engagement, and a professional, customer-focused approach while representing a growing delivery program. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.50 - $28.50/hr.
