BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT SALES & MARKETING LOCATION
BAYTOWN, TX PAY:
$60,000 YR
FULL-TIME
Position Summary The Business Development Assistant supports the Business Development Manager/VP in driving growth across trucking, warehousing, and 3PL logistics operations. This role combines administrative coordination, sales support, client communication, and operational follow‑through to ensure the business development team can execute strategic initiatives efficiently. The Assistant helps maintain an organized pipeline, prepares customer‑facing materials, and collaborates with operations to ensure accurate quoting and seamless onboarding. Key Responsibilities Administrative & Executive Support Manage calendars, meeting schedules, travel arrangements, and daily priorities for the Business Development leadership. Prepare meeting agendas, briefs, follow‑up notes, and action‑item trackers. Maintain organized digital files for proposals, contracts, rate sheets, NDAs, and onboarding documents. Handle confidential information with discretion. Sales & Pipeline Coordination Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities in trucking, warehousing, drayage, and 3PL services. Support outreach efforts through email campaigns, call lists, and LinkedIn communication. Track leads, follow‑ups, and next steps in the CRM to ensure pipeline accuracy. Assist in preparing capability statements, introductory decks, and customer presentations. Proposal, Quoting & Contract Support Draft proposals, pricing sheets, and RFP responses for transportation, warehousing, cross‑docking, and fulfillment services. Gather operational data (rates, capacity, transit times, warehouse availability) from internal teams to support accurate quoting. Ensure all proposals reflect current service capabilities and customer requirements. Customer & Prospect Communication Draft professional emails, follow‑ups, and meeting confirmations. Respond to inbound inquiries and route them to the appropriate department. Support relationship management with prospects, partners, and existing accounts. Operational Coordination (3PL, Trucking & Warehousing) Work with dispatch, warehouse supervisors, and operations managers to gather service details for proposals. Assist with onboarding new customers by collecting required documents and coordinating operational readiness. Maintain working knowledge of trucking services (FTL, LTL, drayage), warehouse operations (receiving, storage, inventory), and 3PL workflows. Reporting & Analytics Generate weekly and monthly reports on pipeline activity, outreach metrics, and revenue opportunities. Prepare dashboards and summaries for executive review. Analyze customer trends, competitor activity, and market conditions relevant to logistics and transportation. Required Skills & Qualifications 2-4 years of experience in business development support, sales coordination, or administrative roles. Experience in logistics, transportation, trucking, warehousing, or 3PL environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities. Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho). Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Strong research and data analysis skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting senior leadership or executive‑level roles. Familiarity with freight terminology, trucking dispatch processes, and warehouse operations. Knowledge of lead‑generation tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, ZoomInfo). Experience preparing proposals or RFP responses for logistics services. Key Competencies Professional communication — polished, concise, and customer‑ready.
