This is a sales-led role focused on generating new business, converting inbound demand, and maximizing the value of each booking. The position serves as the primary client contact from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up and works closely with operations to deliver a consistent, high-quality guest experience aligned with Talyard's brand. This role requires a proactive, disciplined approach to lead generation, strong client management skills, and the ability to translate sales commitments into well-executed events.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Pipeline Management:
Actively source and develop new business across private events, corporate bookings, and group experiences. Generate leads through outbound outreach, networking, partnerships, and social media engagement. Respond to inbound inquiries promptly and professionally across all channels. Maintain a structured sales pipeline with clear tracking of leads, follow-ups, proposals, and closed business. Build relationships with corporate clients, community partners, and repeat guests to drive consistent demand.Client Consultation & Sales Execution:
Own the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution. Develop tailored proposals promoting add-ons, food and beverage packages, and experiential upgrades that align with client needs while increasing average booking value. Conduct venue tours and present Talyard's event offerings, pricing, and packages. Negotiate terms and close bookings with a focus on high-value outcomes.Event Planning & Logistics:
Translate booked business into clear, executable plans for operations. Create and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with detailed event specifications. Develop plans and manage space utilization for events of varying size and complexity. Ensure all event details are communicated accurately and in a timely manner to internal teams. Coordinate with FOH, kitchen, and leadership teams to align staffing, layout, and service plans. Support on-site execution as needed to ensure delivery against client expectations.Administrative & Reporting:
Maintain disciplined processes to support visibility and accountability. Manage CRM systems to track client interactions, pipeline activity, and booking status. Prepare and process contracts, invoices, and event documentation. Track revenue performance, conversion rates, and sales activity. Provide reporting and insights to leadership on pipeline health and performance trends.Post-Event Follow-Up & Relationship Management:
Drive repeat business and long-term client value. Conduct post-event follow-up to ensure satisfaction and address any feedback. Cultivate ongoing relationships with clients to generate repeat bookings and referrals. Identify opportunities for future engagements, memberships, or recurring partnerships.Financial Performance:
Contribute directly to revenue growth and profitability. Meet or exceed monthly and annual event revenue targets. Support margin optimization through pricing discipline and upsell strategies. Align sales commitments with operational capabilities to protect guest experience and cost structure.Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience:
4+ years in event sales, hospitality, venue sales, or other high-touch, revenue-driven roles.Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple clients and timelines concurrently. Demonstrated ability to close business and drive revenue.Technical Proficiency:
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Tripleseat) and Microsoft Office Suite.Availability:
Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and select holidays in support of events.Attributes:
Self-starter with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and accountability for results. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment. What Success Looks Like Strong and consistent growth in private event bookings and revenue. High lead conversion rates supported by timely and effective follow-up. Increased average booking value through thoughtful packaging and upselling. A growing base of repeat clients, referrals, and community partnerships.
