  • Full-time Sight & Sound Systems, is seeking a disciplined, results-driven Business Development Representative to accelerate revenue growth for our commercial fire alarm, access control, and CCTV division.
Operating as an individual contributor, this position focuses strictly on identifying and qualifying high-value commercial B2B opportunities, generating a robust pipeline, and executing strategic outreach to prospective clients. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in B2B sales development, exceptional negotiation skills, and a rigorous, metrics-oriented approach to converting cold prospects into qualified leads. This role serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing commercial clients, conducting consultations, assessing customer needs, developing proposals, and guiding projects through the sales process. The Business Development Representative actively develops and maintains a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, relationship-building, referral development, and strategic outreach activities. This position is responsible for identifying new commercial opportunities, generating profitable sales, and supporting the company's long-term growth objectives while delivering an exceptional client experience. Responsibilities Follow up on all incoming sales leads from businesses in a timely manner as directed Conduct initial sales appointment with new clients Document client interaction in proprietary Customer Relationship Management system Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties as assigned Generate new business through outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, networking, strategic relationship development, and follow-up efforts. Attend industry events, networking functions, trade association meetings, and community events to promote company services and generate business opportunities. Maintain weekly outbound activity expectations as established by leadership. Minium Requirments Daily commute to our offices in Sterling, VA. One year of sales experience in a team environment Proven ability to develop and maintain professional business relationships. Strong prospecting and business development skills Strong networking and relationship-building abilities Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Basic Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new software applications Valid driver's license and good driving record Reliable transportation Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and electronically Preferred Qualifications At least one year of sales experience in consumer electronics or related fields Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sales, account management, business development, commercial sales, or a related customer-facing role. Experience in commercial technology, construction, low-voltage systems, AV integration, security, networking, telecommunications, or related industries preferred. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and revenue goals. Experience developing new business opportunities and managing a sales pipeline. Experience using CRM systems and sales tracking tools. NICET 2 Certification Compensation $75,000-80,000 Base with performance-based bonuses. Bonuses will be to the current KPIs and metrics already established by the company, including measurable business development activity, qualified pipeline creation, committed sales, CRM documentation, and overall performance against the role's objectives.
