Job Title:
Home Sales Consultant| On-Site- Newport News, VA | $34/ HR Job Description The Home Sales Consultant guides prospective clients through the custom home building process from initial inquiry through contract execution. This role presents home designs, features, upgrades, and financing options while managing a robust sales pipeline. The consultant collaborates closely with internal teams and lending partners, maintains accurate records in CRM and related tools, and delivers exceptional customer service that drives referrals, repeat business, and strong closing results. Responsibilities Guide prospective clients through each stage of the custom home building sales process, from first contact to signed contract. Present and explain home designs, features, options, and upgrades in a clear and compelling way. Discuss and outline available financing options in coordination with lending partners. Manage the full sales cycle, including qualification, needs assessment, presentations, follow-up, negotiation, and closing. Collaborate with internal departments and lending partners to ensure a smooth, efficient, and positive customer experience. Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date customer and sales records in the CRM system and other internal tools. Deliver high-quality customer service that encourages referrals and repeat business. Maintain strong follow-up practices and manage a sales pipeline to maximize sales opportunities. Work proactively to achieve and exceed individual sales goals and performance targets. Participate in professional development and training to continuously improve product knowledge and sales skills. Essential Skills 5+ years of successful sales experience with a proven track record of closing deals. Demonstrated ability to guide clients through multiple steps of a structured sales process. Strong speaking and writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building rapport and trust with clients. Proficiency with CRM systems for tracking leads, activities, and customer information. Proficiency with Microsoft Office for creating and managing documents, presentations, and spreadsheets. A proactive, goal-oriented mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated success in sales within a high-performance, target-driven environment. Strong closing record and comfort discussing financial and contractual details with clients. Ability to quickly learn and articulate details of home designs, features, and upgrade options. Comfort working with leads generated by the organization and integrating them into a personal sales strategy. Interest in ongoing professional development and training to refine sales techniques and product knowledge. Work Environment This role operates in a professional sales environment with regular interaction with clients, internal teams, and lending partners. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday by appointment. Leads are generated and design work is handled by in-house designers, allowing the consultant to focus on client relationships and closing opportunities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
