Job Description

H.T. Hackney Company, founded in 1891 is a privately owned wholesale distributor serving more than 20,000 retail customers in over 20 U.S. states making it one of the largest in the United States. We offer competitive pay, including medical, dental, vision insurance and 401K benefits. We are currently accepting applications for a positive and upbeat person to join our team as a Sales Representative to work with our Sales and Marketing Team servicing the Roanoke Virginia area. The ideal candidate should be business minded assist customers by recommending programs and the sale of products that would best fit a convenience store's needs in order to grow sales and profitability.
SALES GROWTH
Accountable for growing new independent single/multiple convenience store accounts Responsible for increasing product category penetration with existing customers. Responsible for maintenance and retention of convenience store accounts in assigned territory. Actively pursue new accounts
KNOWLEDGE BASE
Ability to train and assist territory accounts Complete understanding of HTH operating procedures and products to ensure that accounts are up to date with the latest trends. Ability to provide suggestions on products and merchandising opportunities to maximize sales
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Follow and update designated territory route plan to achieve maximum efficiency Analytical ability which allows to determine territory strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Active listener, quick thinker, and proactive problem solver for HTH as well as store managers Maintain a prospect call database Excellent verbal and written communication skills Perform merchandising, and shelf tags updates Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
: Four-year degree, preferred Food distribution background, preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
: Be able to pass pre-employment testing, drug test and background check Prolonged periods of driving, and standing Must be able to lift to 20 pounds at a time.
