Longview, Kelso, and Cowlitz County About the Job 842 Group operates four locally owned restaurants: Maddalena's Italian Cafe Office 842 Triangle Tavern Silver Star Sports Bar & Grill We are hiring one person to generate catering, group dining, and private-event business across all four concepts. This is an outbound sales role. You will identify businesses and organizations that need catering or a place to gather, reach out to them, build the relationship, prepare a quote, and ask for the booking. Once the business is booked, the restaurant team handles the food, staffing, and event execution. You move on to developing the next opportunity. This is not a restaurant management, event planning, or social media position. The focus is prospecting, follow-up, relationship development, and producing measurable sales. What You Will Do Prospect local businesses, offices, and community organizations by phone, email, and in person Develop relationships with business owners, managers, office administrators, and community leaders Learn what each of our four restaurants does best Match customers with the right restaurant, menu, or event option Prepare quotes using approved menus, packages, and pricing Follow up on open opportunities and ask for the booking Coordinate deposits and booking information Hand completed bookings off to the appropriate restaurant manager Keep clear records of leads, quotes, next steps, and bookings Follow up after completed events to develop repeat business Share a brief weekly update on sales activity and results with ownership Typical opportunities include: Office lunches and business meetings Employee meals Company and holiday parties Private dining and restaurant buyouts Business dinners and cocktail receptions Group celebrations Fundraisers and community events Memorial meals Team gatherings Recurring catering accounts Who We Are Looking For We are looking for someone comfortable reaching out to people they do not know yet, asking questions to understand their needs, asking for the business, and following up consistently. You should be able to manage your own schedule, stay organized, and work independently while remaining accountable for your activity and results. Direct sales experience is helpful, but we will also consider candidates from catering, hospitality, account management, fundraising, membership development, distribution, banking, insurance, real estate, advertising, or other roles where they personally developed relationships and generated business. What matters most is that you can show that you have: Initiated outreach Built customer relationships Identified a need Asked for the business Followed through Produced a measurable result Existing Cowlitz County relationships are helpful but not required. Requirements Strong written and verbal communication Comfortable making outbound calls and conducting in-person business visits Reliable personal transportation and a valid driver's license Basic comfort with email, spreadsheets, and simple lead tracking Available approximately 16-20 hours per week Availability primarily during weekday business hours Occasional evening availability for customer meetings or event walkthroughs What We Provide Training on all four restaurant concepts Approved menus, packages, and pricing Sales materials and prospect-development support Existing customer information and local prospect resources A simple lead-tracking system Direct support from ownership Coordination with restaurant managers A clear handoff process once business is booked Commission and Reimbursement Commission is paid at 3% on qualifying new and reactivated catering and event sales directly sourced by the employee. Commission is paid after the order or event is completed and payment is collected. Full written commission terms will be provided before employment begins. For example, $15,000 in qualifying monthly sales would generate approximately $450 in commission in addition to hourly wages. Approved business mileage will be reimbursed. Paid sick leave is provided in accordance with Washington law. Schedule Most hours will be worked Monday through Friday during normal business hours. There is flexibility in how prospecting, local visits, customer meetings, quote preparation, and follow-up are organized during the week. Occasional evening meetings or walkthroughs may be required, but this is not a regular restaurant floor-management position. Performance Expectations During onboarding, we will establish clear 30-, 60-, and 90-day expectations for: Outreach activity Qualified opportunities Quotes Pipeline development Bookings Completed and collected revenue A formal performance review will be completed after 90 days. Reporting Structure This position reports directly to the 842 Group General Manager and works with each restaurant's manager during booking handoffs.
