A Coffee Route Salesman (CRS) drives a company vehicle over an established route to deliver products or render services and fills and maintains vending and related equipment. The CRS is the face of the company and must consistently always project a positive image of the company while concurrently building and maintaining excellent client relationships.Job Summary:
The CRS is responsible for delivering coffee products, and involves servicing, stocking, and maintaining coffee machines along a designated route. This role ensures machines are fully stocked, clean, and functioning properly while also fostering strong relationships with customers to support sales growth and customer satisfaction. CRS individuals have a critical role to fulfill in the company, as they are involved in providing industry-leading service to TVC customers, and may be on call for the provision of customer service multiple times throughout the year.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain proper inventory levels and product distribution for vending machines.
- Build customer relationships and communicates about types of service.
- Provide client satisfaction in every aspect of the job performance.
- Display a clear understanding of company policies and ability to apply them in an efficient manner.
- Performs routine cleaning and sanitation of vending machines and other related equipment.
- Conducts minor service and adjustments on machines. When necessary, will report defective equipment to designated maintenance and repair service operators or technician supervisors.
- Prior to the beginning of each day's route, ensures the company vehicle is properly loaded with all products needed to service all scheduled machines on the route. (Following company outlined operational procedures.)
- Informs clients of new products or services on a regular basis and listens to and resolves service complaints with expediency.
- Sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays, or issues sales promotion materials to clients as needed.
- Seeks to routinely open new accounts or expand current account support through the company.
- Accountable for all receipt of goods, invoices, delivery tickets, cash received or collected products from the route.
- Conducts inventory reconciliation in accordance with company procedures.
- Keeps the company vehicle clean and organized at all times; performs pre & post trip vehicle inspections.
- Performs all job functions in a safe and professional manner.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
- Suggests improvements to increase coffee sales or customer satisfaction.
- Maintains awareness of customers with past due invoices.
- Ensures that products are not left with customers if the account is 60 days past due unless action is cleared by the manager. (Must have proper documentation of how payment will be made to bring the account current.)
- Is present and on time consistently to complete assigned duties and responsibilities. Required Skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently toward the completion of assigned duties.
- Willing to show initiative in finding solutions to challenges encountered while conducting interactions with clients.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs. on a consistent basis.
- Possess the willingness and ability to operate material handling equipment, ie. Box truck, handcarts. Required Education and Experience.
- High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma or higher.
- Valid class C driver's license with no prior DUI's or citations for reckless driving.
- A minimum of three years of driving experience.
- A minimum of one year in a customer service position or related assignment. (Preferred 2 years of experience in a customer service position.) Work Environment
- Primary work will involve driving a company vehicle, although some duties occur at the company headquarters for the region.
- Business Casual dress, unless directed otherwise by the supervisor.
