Job Description

Position Summary:
The Sales Intern will gain meaningful, hands-on experience by shadowing and collaborating with members of the Sales team in a professional office environment. This paid internship offers exposure to a variety of sales functions and provides the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world assignments, build practical business skills, and develop a stronger understanding of day-to-day sales operations. This position is based in our home office in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Shadow team members across assigned areas of the Sales department to observe daily workflows, ask questions, and document key responsibilities and processes. Assist with data entry, reporting, and basic analysis to support department initiatives and ongoing projects. Apply knowledge gained through observation and hands-on training to complete routine tasks associated with assigned job functions. Provide administrative support to the Sales team, helping ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Complete departmental feedback questionnaires and participate in discussions at the conclusion of each assigned area to support learning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Currently a junior or senior pursuing a degree in business or a related field. Proficiency in basic computer applications; experience with Microsoft Office products is preferred. Strong attention to detail with accurate typing and data entry skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members across all levels of the organization. Available to work for the full duration of the summer semester. Upon an offer and acceptance of employment with AMERISAFE, you will be required to complete our pre-employment screening, which includes a criminal background check, a 10-panel drug test and, if applicable, a review of your motor vehicle report. A 10-panel drug test includes amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene.
