Wine Manager

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Wine Sales Manager to lead our wine sales operations within a retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a deep knowledge of wine and food pairing. This role involves managing sales strategies, enhancing customer experience, and collaborating with liquor distributors to promote our wine offerings. A background in the liquor industry settings is required. The Wine Sales Manager will play a key role in driving revenue growth through upselling, creating and maintaining a wine selection, and delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities Develop and implement effective sales strategies to promote wine offerings and increase revenue. Assist customers in selecting wines that complement their needs. Manage the wine inventory, ensuring proper storage, rotation, and stock levels. Collaborate with sales reps to highlight selections and special promotions. Utilize POS systems for order processing, cash handling, and sales tracking. Train staff on wine knowledge, serving techniques, and upselling methods to enhance customer experience. Conduct tastings and promotional events to attract new customers and retain existing clientele. Monitor customer feedback to improve quality and address any issues promptly. Support special orders, and special event services by providing expert wine recommendations and ensuring seamless service. Requirements Proven experience in restaurant or liquor store environments with a focus on sales or beverage management. Strong knowledge of wine varieties, food pairing principles, and the liquor industry overall. Familiarity with POS systems is essential. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell effectively while maintaining professionalism. Previous experience in retail settings or management roles is highly desirable. Ability to lead a team, train staff on product knowledge, and foster a welcoming atmosphere for customers. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and sales documentation.
