Job Overview The Atlantic District is looking for an Insurance Sales Agency Principal who wants to do more than sell policies. Based in Brattleboro, Vermont, this role is a chance to combine sales, leadership, and client service in a way that feels personal and grounded. Other days you'll be coaching team members, reviewing accounts, or working through coverage details with a client who needs clarity. Salary Range:
$220,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year Benefits Annual Base Salary + Commission + Bonus Opportunities Paid Time Off (PTO) Work from Home Health Insurance Disability Insurance Life Insurance Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Parental Leave Hands on Training Mon-Fri Schedule Retirement Plan Career Growth Opportunities Requirements Active insurance license required for the state of Vermont or ability to obtain one promptly. Proven background in insurance sales, agency management, or a closely related leadership role. Strong understanding of personal and/or commercial insurance products, underwriting basics, and client coverage needs. Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading a sales-focused team. Ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships through clear, trustworthy communication. Comfort with agency systems, CRM tools, and standard business software. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, follow through, and keep work moving. Preference for candidates with experience growing an agency book of business or supporting producer development. Familiarity with the Brattleboro, Vermont market or similar community-based markets is a plus. Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day direction of the agency and help shape how the business serves clients and grows over time. Build trusted relationships with new and existing customers by understanding their needs and recommending the right coverage. Support sales efforts by identifying opportunities, developing referral sources, and strengthening community presence. Guide producers and staff with clear expectations, coaching, and steady support. Review insurance accounts, coverage options, and renewal opportunities to help clients stay properly protected. Work closely with carriers, partners, and internal contacts to keep service and sales efforts running smoothly. Track performance, monitor goals, and help the agency stay focused on consistent growth. Maintain accurate records, manage business activity in agency systems, and follow all compliance requirements. Bring a thoughtful, people-first approach to every conversation, from the first phone call to long-term account management.
