Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Sales Associate to join our Outreach team. We are looking for candidates who possess a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and experience in connecting with people. That can be customer service, retail, organizing work, or volunteerism. This role will be engaging with homeowners, educating them about DC's solar options, and setting appointments for our Sales team to present their custom design. The Sales Associate will primarily be engaging with homeowners through door to door canvassing, as well as attending community events and manning the company phone line when unable to door knock. There is an initial one week of paid training, where a candidate learns about solar technology, DC's solar incentives, and the solar options Uprise Solar offers to homeowners. The candidate will also learn door-knocking strategies and techniques and spend time practicing our pitch. We want to bring motivated people into our Outreach team that can quickly grow into being full-time members of our Sales team. This could be as either a new member of our Outside Sales or Inside Sales team. To do Outside Sales, an Outreach associate would follow up and attempt to close the appointments they set on the door. This would require an Outreach associate gain a deeper understanding of the technology, train in solar design, and practice sales closing techniques under the mentorship of our Sales Director. Inside Sales would give the Outreach associate extra duties of screening incoming prospects, answering the company line, and following up with potential customers on the phone. This would require training in phone etiquette and using our CRM database. These roles, in addition to continued door-knocking, could grow the position into having full-time hours. Hours and Compensation Our team door-knocks within the hours of 2pm to 7:30pm from Monday to Friday, as well as optional weekend hours. We offer a flexible schedule within those hours, asking a minimum of 10 hours a week. Our compensation structure has three parts: a $17 an hour flat rate for both in office duties and any hours spent door-knocking, a $70 bonus for a set and completed appointment, and a commission for any customer that signs after an appointment set by the door-knocker. The commission size varies but is usually between $300-$700. Requirements Experience in retail, customer service, public education, advocacy outreach. Familiarity with CRM software is preferred by not required. Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Experience in door-to-door sales or outside sales is a plus. Demonstrated abilities to work within a team efforts toward achieving goals.
