Brookfield, CT Job Summary:
The Stockroom Assistant will perform duties within the Stockroom functions of the department in order to meet customer delivery requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Stocks product in proper locations. Prepares product in accordance with customer requirements. Strips, pins or otherwise prepares wire for production. Cuts and marks wire, tubing and cable in accordance with customer requirements. Prepares kits in accordance with traveler, customer documentation, or other instructions. Performs periodic inventory cycle counts. Issues product to production in accordance with production and shipping schedules, requisitions, or departmental priorities. Fills all product requests from the production floor. Uses computer programs to access shipping/receiving requirements and to produce invoices or other required paperwork. Assists with managing shipments of all products, materials, and supplies by ensuring that shipments are packaged, labeled, and the delivery method is correct in accordance with the customers' requirements. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with all internal "customers". Works with other departments as needed to expedite problems, concerns and issues relating to timely product deliveries to the floor. Participates in attaining Stock Room departmental goals and objectives by performing job requirements at the highest level of accuracy. Works in a productive, efficient manner so production schedules and customer delivery requirements are met. Performs all work in compliance with the Company's Quality System. Makes process improvement recommendations when appropriate. Communicates equipment maintenance needs to the Stockroom Supervisor. Maintains an organized and neat work area. Other duties as required or assigned.
Education and Experience:
Diploma or GED from an accredited high school or technical school required.
Minimum:
One (1) year of experience in a stockroom with any combination of duties including stocking, shipping, receiving, and or packaging experience in an electronic contract manufacturing, electronic high-tech or related industries.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated effective attention to detail and follow through techniques. Strong, communication, organization, and time management skills. Self-driven, motivated and results oriented. Able to count product. Able to count parts either by hand or scale counting method. Able to measure length of wires, tubing etc. by using a variety of measuring tools. Able to understand assembly/manufacturing flow. Able to read electronic assembly drawings to identify components and wire gauges and types. Able to multi-task and complete tasks in a timely manner. Proficient user of Microsoft computer programs. ERP System usage preferred. Able to read, write and speak the English language as it relates to the job requirements.

None.
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical effort is required. Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and walk about the building. Regularly required to lift, carry, push, pull, drag or otherwise transport bins, tubs or other containers with product being moved about the building. Regularly required to pack, lift and move product and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds; on a rare occasion some boxes may exceed this weight, in which case an additional employee is required to assist with lifting. Light computer typing is required.

Works in a climate-controlled assembly facility with little noise.
