This role is perfect for someone who loves retail, enjoys creating exceptional customer experiences, has an eye for merchandising and design, and thrives in a fast-paced boutique environment. As our Shop Assistant, you'll serve as a key support person in daily operations—helping with inventory organization, sales, merchandising, Shopify maintenance, events, and ensuring our store always looks beautiful, organized, and inviting. ResponsibilitiesCustomer Experience & Sales Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience. Assist customers with product recommendations, outfit styling, gift selection, and home décor inspiration. Build genuine relationships with customers and contribute to sales goals. Process transactions accurately and efficiently. Answer customer questions both in-store and through various customer service channels as needed. Inventory & Operations Assist with inventory counts and stock organization. Organize incoming merchandise and maintain an orderly backstock area. Tag and prepare new inventory for the sales floor. Restock clothing, accessories, and home décor items throughout the day. Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with regular inventory audits. Ensure the sales floor and stockroom remain clean, organized, and well-maintained. Shopify & E-Commerce Maintain and update the Shopify backend, including product information, inventory levels, collections, and basic website maintenance. Assist with product uploads, edits, and inventory adjustments. Help ensure online inventory remains accurate and up-to-date. Shopify experience is strongly preferred; however, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn. Merchandising & Styling Assist with visual merchandising and seasonal floor set updates. Create appealing product displays that align with the Salt & Creek brand aesthetic. Stay current on fashion, home décor, and lifestyle trends. Help style mannequins, displays, and featured collections. Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, replenished, and presented throughout the store. Events & Community Engagement Assist with Sip & Shop events, vendor collaborations, and community events. Help with event setup, execution, and breakdown. Represent the Salt & Creek brand professionally during in-store and local events. Qualifications Previous retail, boutique, or customer service experience preferred. Shopify experience strongly preferred; willingness to learn and adapt is essential. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused personality. Passion for fashion, home décor, and lifestyle retail. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently while also taking direction and feedback well. Comfortable lifting and moving merchandise up to 50 pounds. Self-motivated, dependable, and proactive. Strong sense of style and confidence assisting customers with styling recommendations.
