Position Summary:

The Gourmet Cheese Associate will handle, prepare, wrap, weigh, label, and price cheeses and work in the olive bar. The Gourmet Cheese Associate works under the supervision and guidance of the Gourmet Cheese Department Manager. "There are no strangers here, only friends we have yet to meet." — Frank Oakes —

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

Maintain cleanliness, organized work area, counter display, and safety standards by Seeds to Table and Gourmet Cheese Department guidelines (verbal and/or written) and food safety handling procedures Maintain and replenish products in storage areas, display cases, and the surrounding area Assist and serve customers, and explain products Cutting and wrapping cheeses Ensure proper dating of cheeses, department products, and inventory control Assist with additional department-related tasks when required Always wear cutting gloves when operating knives, slicers, or other sharp tools. Non-slip shoes are mandatory for a safe working environment (please note that the company does not provide).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work in a rapidly increasing, high-volume, fast-moving work environment Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays Excellent attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and with a team Professionalism, exceptional hospitality, and customer service Ability to promote sales, taste cheeses, organize merchandise, and maintain cleanliness Ability to conduct basic mathematics and interpret data as required Willingness and ability to identify and learn about the department's products High-level interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge and experience with cutting and wrapping cheeses are a plus.

Capable of reaching below or at the waist and overhead.

Communication Skills:

Effective speaking skills to convey instructions and communicate with coworkers clearly and accurately, especially in a loud or busy environment.

Vision:

Peripheral vision and near and far visual acuity are essential.
