Job Description

Matter Brothers a top 100 furniture retailer located in Pinellas Park, FL, family owned and operated for over 40 years serving Florida's West Coast, is looking for a Merchandise Assistant to join our TEAM! The Merchandise Assistant provides administrative support to the merchandising team, with a primary focus on accurate SKU management throughout the product lifecycle—from product setup and maintenance through phase-out. The role partners with vendors, showrooms, and internal teams to maintain reliable product information, support merchandise strategies, and keep day-to-day processes moving efficiently. Key Responsibilities Create, enter, and maintain accurate SKU and product information, including descriptions, specifications, pricing, status, and related records. Maintain merchandising tools and product data; audit records, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrections. Manage and distribute clear communication to vendors, showrooms, and cross-functional teams regarding merchandising direction and expectations. Respond to vendor inquiries and obtain the information needed to support accurate product setup and maintenance. Prepare, organize, and analyze merchandise, inventory, and product lifecycle reports. Support showroom product resets, events, installations, and other merchandising initiatives. Build effective working relationships and contribute to process improvements across the merchandising function. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the Company's Core and Growth Values in all job functions. Qualifications and Skills Two years of experience in retail merchandising, purchasing, inventory control, project coordination, or a related field preferred. Bachelor's degree in business, merchandising, marketing, retailing, or a related field—or equivalent experience—preferred. Strong data-entry, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with STORIS and/or Salesforce is a plus. Knowledge of merchandising, pricing, assortment planning, SKU management, and omnichannel retail preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with a professional, team-oriented approach. Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities within established deadlines. Ability to learn new systems quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
