Pet Nutrition Specialist

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and personable Pet Nutrition Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the delivery of nutritional advice, assisting customers, and ensuring a positive experience in a retail/grooming store environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, customer service expertise, and a passion for helping owners find the perfect healthy food that fits their needs and budget. Duties Assist customers with selecting nutritional products and provide product information Conduct product demos to educate customers about benefits and usage Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and organizing displays Handle cashiering duties including cash handling, POS transactions, and basic retail math Upsell products to enhance customer experience and increase sales Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nutrition section Supervise or assist with supervising groomers or bathers as needed Ensure excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries Manage inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment Promote health and wellness initiatives through engaging customer interactions Skills Experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures Supervising experience is preferred for leadership opportunities Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory management Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities Bilingual skills are advantageous for serving a diverse customer base Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and stocking techniques Experience with product demos, upselling, and retail sales strategies Basic math skills necessary for handling cash transactions and inventory calculations Professional phone etiquette to communicate effectively with customers and team members Ability to work in a fast-paced retail or grocery store environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about health, nutrition, and providing exceptional customer service in a mom and pop retail setting.
