Full Job Description Schedule/Hours:
Temporary - Part time up to 29 hours/week This position is responsible for: Receives, sorts, prices and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
Key Responsibilities:
Receives, inspects, sorts, and processes donated items based on category and condition, selecting merchandise for sale and discarding unsuitable items in accordance with established procedures. Tags, prices, packs, and transports donated goods to designated storage, processing, or sales areas while ensuring proper handling and organization. Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly warehouse environment by organizing work areas and performing routine cleaning of floors, tables, and equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Sorting Room Worker's work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Ability to maintain regular attendance, communicate effectively in English, and follow written or verbal instructions, including maps and directions. Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and donated goods weighing up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis. Ability to perform duties requiring moderate mobility, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and sitting throughout the workday.
