Lead Stocker Salary $38.57 Hourly Location 1392 Aurora Avenue, Naperville, IL Job Type Full Time Job Number 7029 Department Department of Public Utilities - Electric Opening Date 05/08/2026 Description Benefits Job Description The City of Naperville's Electric Utility is currently seeking a Lead Stocker to lead and participate in the issuance, return, and acceptance of all inventory, tools, and supplies as stored in the warehouse. The Lead Stocker assists the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and servicing of various types of vehicles, tools, and equipment. This position is represented by the IBEW Local 9 union. Wage rates and other benefits are subject to the language in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (Download PDF reader) . The 2025 starting salary for this position is $38.5700 per hour. The 2026 wage will be implemented once a new collective bargaining agreement is ratified. Duties Oversees the daily operations of the warehouse and special tasks as related in addition to the regular duties of the Stocker. Follows up with vendors regarding lead times or material orders. Verifies in-bound paperwork for materials received using corresponding PO to match line items and crosscheck counts. Receives materials electronically for payment processing according to accounting standards. Works with the Utility Accountant on the proper accounting of capitalized items at receipt. Maintains various logs and databases used in the tracking of material in and out of the warehouse, such as transformer data and daily receipts, in order to stay abreast of the status of orders and other related information. Assists in training of new warehouse personnel. Answers day-to-day inquiries from within and outside the City. Conducts tailgate safety meetings. Oversees scrap and garbage pickup and monitors all hoppers on a timely basis. Performs inspection, minor maintenance, and repair of electric utility vehicles and equipment. Assists in the accountability and security of material. Monitors inventory levels and communicates items of concern to the warehouse supervisor. Performs cycle counts and participates in annual physical inventory. Assists the Support Services Manager in performing the Warehouse Supervisor's duties when the Supervisor is absent. Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required A minimum of two years of electric utility warehouse experience and one year of significant fork lift experience. A high school diploma or equivalent with a strong mathematical aptitude. A valid State of Illinois driver's license. Preferred Proven computer software experience with Microsoft Office suite and inventory/warehousing applications, including the transfer of digital data from bar code scanners. Previous training in the operation of electro/mechanical and/or hydraulic equipment.
