Part-Time Produce Associate

Part-Time Produce Associate Sugar Beet Food Co-op - Oak Park, IL We're seeking a dependable, customer-focused Produce Associate to help maintain a fresh, well-stocked, and inviting produce department. This role supports daily operations including stocking, rotating, prepping, and maintaining high standards for product quality and food safety.

Schedule & Pay Part-time:

12-16 hours per week Starting pay: $15/hour Required availability: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays Additional flexibility across days/times preferred Key Responsibilities Stock, rotate, and cull produce to maintain freshness and presentation Prep items (trim, wash, bundle) and maintain clean workspaces Assist with receiving deliveries and monitoring inventory Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service and product guidance Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and accurate signage Follow all food safety and workplace safety standards Cross-train and provide support in other departments as needed Qualifications Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work efficiently and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently (50 lbs occasionally) Reliable attendance and punctuality Interest in natural foods a plus
