We grow a curated selection of flowers and foliage for weddings and special events. All is cared for employing environmentally sustainable and socially responsible practices which focus on the special relationship between land, animal and food. Role:
Weatherlow Farms seeks a reliable individual looking for an engaging farm experience in beautiful southcoast Massachusetts. This position will be a support role for our livestock and land manager.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Feeding and watering of livestock Moving of electrified fence and water lines Operate tractor, RTV, ATV & landscape truck Loading and unloading livestock Grounds maintenance (mowing, weedwacking) Collect eggs Move animals through pasture rotations Compost maintenance Feed, groom and general care for livestock guardian dogs Daily record keeping
Qualifications:
Previous livestock experience (2 years) Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions Demonstrated confidence and patience with livestock handling General knowledge of regenerative agriculture and pasture management with a willingness to learn Tractor experience preferred String trimmer, chainsaw and hand tool experience preferred Driver's license and dependable transportation Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly Detail oriented and observational to catch issues before they become problems Self-starter with a serious work ethic, ability to work independently Ability to represent the farm in a professional manner
Hours:
Immediate (now thru May 1): 10+ hours (2 days) High season (May thru Oct): 20+ hours a week (2-3 days)
Low Season:
