Job Description
Duties The Scale Clerk is responsible for weighing all inbound and outbound vehicles, inspecting loose loads, directing them to proper unloading areas, and assisting in the details of purchases Ensure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE), remove hazards as identified, and maintain cleanliness of the work area Communicates clearly and concisely with landfill customers, management, and coworkers to ensure safety and customer service goals are met. Maintain accurate records as required Operate scale computer, applying correct material codes Deliver customer service excellence via telephone, two-way radio, e-mail, face to face, etc. Process paperwork, enter information and create standardized reports Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices. Handle cash sales/drawer Other duties as assigned by supervisor Typical schedule for this position is 11:00am-4:30pm, M-F, with occasional Saturdays.
