A Stocking Clerk replenishes and organizes shelves in a retail store. Unpacks and checks inventory received in a warehouse or stockroom, moves products to fill shelves and retrieves orders for customers or sales associates; may add labels or prices to products.

This is applicable to external hires not within the State of New Mexico Government. Why does the job exist? Position serves to support office and field personnel. How does it get done? The position will order, receive, stock, issue/deliver, load/unload supplies, materials, equipment and other items for administration, construction, and maintenance throughout the District while maintaining accurate inventory. Position will perform data entry, assist in conducting inventories and will operate a forklift to stock items. Some climbing, reaching, kneeling, bending and crawling are necessary to perform job duties; ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Who are the customers? Internal NMDOT employees/staff. Ideal Candidate Internal NMDOT employees/staff. Minimum Qualification Six (6) months of experience in shipping and/or receiving. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's license. Employment requires successful completion of a preemployment physical exam and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to drive a forklift, frequent standing, walking, reaching above the shoulder and below the waist, stooping, kneeling. Must be able to lift 50lbs.
