Job Description

Wild Leaven Bakery i s looking to hire a reliable, hard-working. dependable, and good attitude team member to support the management team with our operations at the Taos Farmers Market (TFM) for the entire 2026 season. Overall Work Schedule 7:00 am is the earliest start time 2:00pm is the latest time Daytime hours only The team member must be available ALL markerts of the season The team member must arrive about five (5) minutes before the scheduled shift Pay = $20 per hour + weekly customer tips to be shared with other team members Application process. For this position, our pay rate is $20 per hour + Customer Tips to be shared with other team members . The amount of customer tips are subject to change every week What will I do? This is an hourly, part-time position. In this position, the team member will be expected to work about 6-7 hours on Saturdays only at the Taos Farmers Market. We look to hire for personality and train on skills where needed. Each person on the team is key to the operations of the business. As our key market team member, you will be in charge of the setup and the sale of our baked goods at the market. And the icing on the cake is, you will have the opportunity make a difference in our community. In this position, we look forward to work with a hard working, proactive and friendly team member who will provide direct assistance to the management team. The individual will also be friendly with our valued clientele to ensure the best customer service, while being familiar to our products. What will I bring? Since we are a small team, we enjoy working with humble folks who are honest and appreciative of the work they do (in our case, providing food to our community), excellent people skills, exemplary work ethics and avid learner. You'll need to be a decent and polite person too, someone we'd invite over for Thanksgiving dinner and would enjoy spending a meal together. All employees are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner such as following the Company's policies and procedures; clock in about five (5) minutes before their scheduled shifts. All employees are scheduled to work during the holidays.
Other qualifications include:
Be 18 years old or older High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and industry experience Must have a positive outlook about life, good attitude even while under pressure at work, a reliable work performance / ethic, easily get along with others and willing to follow directions without dragging one's feet. Basic knowledge and interest in bread baking techniques and our family bakery Applicants must have basic culinary, baking or relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen State Food safety certification is highly welcome but not required. The company will pay for one that must be successfully completed by the set deadline. Job responsibilities and duties Be available to open and close our booth on Saturdays Set up, staff, and break down the booth at TFM on Saturdays Clearly and positively take the customers' orders Smile, greet, and thank customers with a positive attitude Able to complete basic trade math (i.e. margin calculations, shrink tracking, etc.) Restocking shelves and replenishing food items as needed during the TFM Be able to stand for up to 3 hours continuously and to correctly follow directions Maintain positive customer service with business partners and customers Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills Stand for long periods of time while checking out customers quickly and accurately Keep all areas clean and presentable at all times Prep and put back food items at the beginning and the end of shifts Slice, bag, organize and pack wholesale orders of bread as needed Ensure compliance with food health and safety regulations Perform food quality control as needed Maintain positive customer service with business partners and customers Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills Strong math, problem-solving, decision-making skills Be a good team player with positive attitude and excellent attention to detail All employees must support each other as needed and upon request Physical and Other Requirements Work outdoors in a potentially noisy and fast-paced work environment Ability to cope with weather (the market is open rain or shine!) Extended periods of walking and standing Must have a reliable mean of transportation Must be able to stand and lift at least 30-50 pounds Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead and side to side throughout shifts and possess hand/finger dexterity Must be able to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts Must be able to work in extreme cold and hot environments on an occasional basis Must have some basic computer skills Waiting period applies State Food safety training & certification is welcome, but not required upon hire. The company will pay for one that must be successfully completed afterward Must be available for all shifts Must be able to keep a positive attitude while working under pressure work Must have a reliable mean of transportation Must be able to do basic trade math (i.e. margin calculations, shrink tracking, etc.) Must be able to stand and lift at least 50 pounds occasionally Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, squat, reach overhead and side to side during shifts Must possess hand/finger dexterity Must be able to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts Must be able to work in extreme cold and hot environments on an occasional basis Must be able to work with extreme heat from ovens Must be able to work extended hours and varying work schedule as dictated by the business Must have some basic computer skills Waiting period applies State Food safety training & certification not required upon hire. SHOES:
The Company requires that all employees wear comfortable closed shoes. No sandals or open shoes will be allowed for the employees' safety. The Company provides clean aprons to all employees. As already stated in this job description, Wild Leaven Bakery offers a non-negotiable base pay rate ​o​f $20/hour + weekly customer tips. In addition to this pay rate, employees receive variable weekly customer tips. All collected tips are pooled/distributed amongst all current employees of Wild Leaven Bakery based on their weekly work hours. Employees' ​promotions and pay raises are at management's discretion. We offer paid sick leave that must be accumulated by employees based on their individual earned hours.
