Job Description

AMVETS National Service Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports American Veterans through a variety of programs. AMVETS Thrift Store is currently seeking a hard working team member with a positive and motivated attitude. A Pricer is responsible for pricing pre-sorted donated items to be sold on the sales floor. The pricers' responsibilities are critical as they may have a direct effect on revenues generated in the Thrift Store. Primary Duties
  • Price pre-tagged items to be sold on the Thrift Store sales floor.
  • Sort miscellaneous household items to be priced when necessary.
  • Ensure each specific item is priced within the desired range for sale.
  • Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the back stock room and production area.
  • Build "Z" racks by item category to be stocked on the sales floor after they have been priced.
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise.
  • Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices including safe lifting and moving techniques, storing donations and product, and loss prevention.
  • Assist guests and patrons while in the sales floor area, ensuring each patron receives outstanding guest service by providing a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every patron in need of assistance with pricing, and thanking each patron for supporting the Veterans.
  • Communicate Guest requests to management. Answering store phone line and directing calls to appropriate extensions Any other duties as assigned by management. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the stock room and production area.
  • Ability to communicate with associates and guests.
  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete any necessary documentation.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and production area.
  • Ability to frequently move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds.
