Job Description

Long Island's leading butcher shop, Farmingdale Meat Market/Main Street Wholesale Meats, is looking for a Stock Associate to join our team! Family-owned and operated for three generations, our company is continuously growing—join us in providing the finest meats since 1946! The Stock Associate is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, organizing, and tracking inventory throughout the facility. This position ensures products are accurately received, rotated, and stored while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive, unload, inspect, and unpack daily deliveries from vendors and suppliers. Store products in designated locations in an orderly and accessible manner. Examine inventory for quality, expiration dates, and damaged packaging; rotate stock as needed. Receive and count stock items and assist with inventory tracking and weekly inventory counts. Label and identify stock items using company inventory procedures. Ensure proof of delivery documents are signed, dated, and forwarded to the Accounting Department. Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage areas. Assist with loading, unloading, and moving products throughout the facility as needed. Qualifications Basic math and counting skills. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Food industry experience preferred but not required. Bilingual skills are a plus. Forklift and pallet jack certification preferred; training and certification may be provided for qualified candidates. Physical Requirements Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull products weighing up to 50 pounds or more with assistance when required. Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and climbing. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to safely operate material handling equipment after training and certification. Working Conditions Work is performed in a variety of environments throughout the day, including refrigerated coolers, freezers, warehouse/storage areas, loading docks, and outdoor locations. Regular exposure to varying temperatures, including cold refrigerated environments and outdoor hot, cold, wet, humid, or rainy weather conditions. May be required to work near moving equipment, delivery vehicles, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
