JOB SUMMARY:

A stocker is responsible for maintaining customer service. He/she is responsible for stocking and maintaining inventory levels, controlling expenses, shortages, and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control. He/she is responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping procedures during stocking of store.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service. Implement and maintain customer service standards. Maintain all merchandising standards, display presentation and monitor inventory levels. Ensure housekeeping policies are maintained during stocking procedures. Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures, emphasizing loss prevention and safety. Any other duties as assigned by management. Able to efficiently use a box knife. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all grocery store floor areas.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to communicate with associates and customers. Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation. Ability to freely access all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area, and register area. Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to perform his/her duties. Sitting or standing for long periods of time, occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, good finger dexterity and feeling, frequent repetitive motions, talking, hearing, visual acuity, and climbing ladders. Ability to move or transfer merchandise throughout the store generally weighing zero to one hundred pounds. Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates. Any other duties as assigned by store director.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal grocery environment.
