THE POSITION
Start a meaningful career as a Corrections Stock Clerk with the Department of Corrections (DOC). This position with the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Benner Township offers a strong mix of hands-on work and daily responsibility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position centers on receiving, maintaining, and distributing inventory that supports daily operations within the correctional facility. It also involves processing commissary orders and working directly with inmates during assigned work tasks. As a Corrections Stock Clerk, you will perform the following duties:
Inventory Handling:
Receive, inspect, store, and distribute stock while maintaining accurate records
Commissary Processing:
Manage inmate orders from form distribution to delivery and transaction recording
Clothing Issuance:
Issue inmate clothing according to policy and ensure proper documentation
Inmate Supervision:
Assign tasks, monitor work quality, and support safe and secure work areas for inmates
Equipment Operation:
Use forklifts, hand trucks, and other tools to move and secure materials
Record Maintenance:
Compile reports, input inmate credits into system, and document sales, shortages, and damaged items Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday
- Friday.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,524.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of stockroom, warehouse, retail sales, or clerical experience; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
