Summary To position is primarily a "carve out" position for clients or former clients and/or a training position to develop future production associates as the position open within the store or other stores. Employees in this position will perform one or more of the duties below; however, training on other duties to prepare the individual for future openings is required. Only employees who can perform all of the duties of Merchandise Processor, with or without accommodations, will be considered for promotion into the position of Merchandise Processor. Duties and Responsibilities Perform duties in support of store production and sales to include at least one of the following duties, but not limited to: Hanging clothing only at a minimum of 1 rack per hour
Ticket clothing only
Rotation
Product placement in textile and/or wares
Cleaning Assisting at donor area or cash wrap to include but limited to: Assist Donor Service Representative in accepting donations
Assisting Cashiers in bagging merchandize that was purchased Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly production and donation area as well as outside donor area.
Support, promotes and participates in organizational programs and special events.
Contributes to the organization by supporting additional tasks and projects as needed.
Promotes an environment of workplace safety. Assures that duties are performed in a safe manner and safety requirements are adhered to.
Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Store Manager. Qualifications Education and Experience No formal education necessary.
Must be 18 years of age or older due to the demands of the position, to ensure full availability for all required work shifts including the need for flexible scheduling across all store operating hours, and to meet specific compliance requirements related to state and federal child labor laws. Skills/Abilities/Qualifications Ability to communicate in some form as to understand assignments, safety, and standards.
Must present a neat and positive appearance and demeanor.
Must possess good customer service skills.
Must be able to stand for extended periods (depending on assignment).
Must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently (depending on assignment).
Must be able to work a flexible schedule in include evenings and weekends. Physical Requirements Ability to stand continuously for more than 75% of the shift.
Ability to stand continuously with the neck bent 30 degrees for more than 75 % of the shift.
Ability to lift 25 pounds from ground level to waist level frequently for more than 75% of the shift.
Ability to push and pull various carts requiring a force of 25 pounds a distance of 25 feet for 25% of the shift.
Ability to repetitively perform the same hand, wrist, and arm motion every few seconds to tag textiles for more than 75% of the shift.
Ability to repeatedly perform pinch grip with a force up to 5 pounds to place textiles on hangers for more than 75% of the shift.
Ability to repeatedly raise hands 66 inches above floor level to place hangers onto sales floor racks for 25% of the shift.
