Are you looking for a job that brings you new opportunities each day? Do you want a job where your work makes the world a better place for those in your community? If so, we want to talk with you about using your talents as a Sales Associate/Cashier at the American Council of the Blind Thrift Store. We are looking for a Sales Associate/Cashier to work around 30-35 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
1) Greets customers in a courteous manner 2) Maintains positive customer and employee relations. 3) Performs cash register operation and follows opening/closing procedures. 4) Assists with picking/straightening up or arranging merchandise to ensure a neat, clean and safe working environment. 5) Assists with inventory, display, merchandising and placement of stock on sales floor and mark-downs. 6) Maintains acceptable attendance, personal hygiene, and dress code standards. 7) May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in fast-paced retail environment.
  • Ability to provide great customer service.
  • Ability to make quick decisions independently.
  • Ability to read, write and have a basic math aptitude.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with and among store employees.
  • Must interact cordially and productively with donors, customers, and ACBES Employees.
  • Good communication skills. Physical Demands
  • Works inside in a retail environment.
  • Use upper body strength to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and must be able to lift the arms shoulder height or above.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee stands for long periods of time, bending, stooping, and occasionally helping throughout the store.
