Position Purpose The Dairy Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Dairy Department by ensuring product availability, freshness, merchandising excellence, and exceptional customer service. This position assists with inventory control, department organization, associate training, and execution of company standards while helping achieve sales and profitability goals. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Support daily Dairy Department operations and ensure efficient workflow. Maintain proper stocking, rotation, and replenishment of dairy products. Ensure shelves, displays, and coolers remain full, clean, and organized. Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management activities. Monitor product dates and remove out-of-code merchandise promptly. Help maintain department standards for cleanliness, presentation, and organization. Customer Service Provide outstanding customer service and create a positive shopping experience. Assist customers with product selection, special requests, and product information. Address customer questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Promote a culture focused on customer satisfaction and service excellence. Ensure products are available and presented in a manner that meets customer expectations. Team Leadership Assist in training and developing department associates. Provide coaching and daily direction to team members. Promote teamwork, accountability, and productivity within the department. Support department management in achieving operational and performance goals. Lead department activities and provide guidance in the manager's absence. Inventory and Merchandising Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs. Ensure effective product rotation to minimize shrink and product loss. Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and shelf tags. Execute merchandising plans, seasonal displays, and promotional programs. Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper receiving and stocking procedures. Safety and Compliance Follow and enforce food safety, sanitation, and company policies. Maintain compliance with all regulatory and operational standards. Ensure proper handling and storage of refrigerated products. Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe environment for customers and associates. Report and address safety concerns promptly. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Previous retail, grocery, or dairy department experience. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Experience with inventory management and product merchandising. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements. Experience working with refrigerated products. Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday. Work in refrigerated and cold storage environments. Perform repetitive motions related to stocking and product handling. Working Conditions Fast-paced retail grocery environment. Frequent exposure to refrigerated coolers and storage areas. Continuous interaction with customers and associates.
