Job Overview Overview :
The Generalized Back End Associate is responsible for assisting the management team and volunteers with the day-to-day tasks of the back end of the thrift store. This includes donation intake, assisting with the processing of hard and soft goods (clothing, homeware items, shoes, etc.), and other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities :
  • Assisting with the processing of a wide range of donated goods as assigned by the management team.
  • Assisting with stock movement from the back end to the sales floor and instructing volunteers on best practices therein.
  • Assisting with quality control monitoring of stock as it's processed to maintain overall inventory standards before stock is moved to the sales floor.
  • Assisting with the coaching of volunteers on best practices and general store procedures as laid out by the management team.
  • Assisting with donation in-take as required.
  • Assisting on the cash register during busy periods, staff illness/vacation, etc. as required by the management team.
  • Assisting with maintaining general health & safety standards as needed throughout the day.
  • Assisting with store opening / closing as required.
  • Other duties, including assisting with furniture deliveries and pick-ups, as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications :
  • Previous thrift store experience is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math & IT skills.
  • Bilingual speakers (specifically Spanish) desirable. Conversational English skills a must.
  • Must be able to lift upwards of 30 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for upwards of 6 to 8 hours a day as necessary.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate into a dynamic pre-existing team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be a creative problem solver and able to work to deadlines as laid out by the management team.
  • Be able to work a flexible schedule with some Saturday shifts.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 30.0 per week
