Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to make a difference in North Austin for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers consistent weekday hours from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. You'll work with a caseload of approximately 25-30 students and have the flexibility to choose between EC-6 or 6-12 assignments based on your preference and expertise. Your expertise will be invaluable, especially in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, where your input will shape the roadmaps for student success. This position calls for a passionate educator who is adept at collaborating with colleagues, advocating for students' needs, and maintaining a professional, inclusive environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Texas Educator License with EC-12 Special Education and Core/Generalist Endorsements (required) ARD meeting experience, with confidence in contributing and collaborating during sessions Familiarity with special education compliance and best practices in student support Commitment to adhering to district dress code (no visible tattoos, single color hair, professional attire, and limited earrings)

Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' IEP goals Assess progress, update records, and contribute to IEP development and review Foster strong lines of communication with students, families, and support staff Attend and actively participate in all required ARD meetings Maintain a positive, respectful, and equitable classroom culture
