Consistently provides our customers with over the top customer service. Ensure product quality and selection. Obtain and display a knowledge of the many different products offered in the department. Typical Duties and Responsibilities A Produce Clerk at Day's Market seeks opportunities to greet, assist, and thank customers. You will learn to prepare product, stock the shelf, properly rotate the product, identify products that need to be filled or discarded, merchandise products for proper presentation and ease of purchase, and ensure proper pricing is available on signs or tags for products. Maintains an atmosphere of friendly, energetic customer service with an emphasis of taking care of the customer and their needs. Maintains an atmosphere of customer awareness. Seek to provide fast, friendly service to all our customers, willingly and promptly addressing and resolving and customer concerns and being willing to help in locating items throughout the store and willingly taking them to the item.
Ability to:
Consistently provide world class customer service to all customers Be reliable and dependable Have the ability to take direction and work in a team environment Perform general housekeeping duties in the department; clean and sanitize work area, clean machinery, knives, dishes, take out the garbage, wipe up spills, etc. Communicate with other team members, including written communication to pass on to those working after you and/or to pass on to the manager Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays Conduct visual inspection of product, display, read written material, etc. Communicate in writing to others Reach, lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 50 lbs. frequently Stand for long periods of time, walk and move rapidly, bend, twist and turn frequently Perform safe/quick movements and operate related equipment listed below with manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Work with hands exposed to ice, moisture, fruits and vegetables Work for prolonged periods of time in a refrigerated environment 34 - 55 degrees F Learn proper handling, preparation, seasonality, and perishability, product safety, sanitation procedures and department policies Learn to operate and use tools and equipment such as knives, wrappers, scales, compactors, garbage disposals, hand trucks, pallet jacks, fork lift and ladder Must be 18 years of age or older.
